French Immersion retreat
What to Expect from the French Immersion Retreat
Bonjour ! Are you feeling like spending a day or two (or perhaps more?) immersed in French, as if you travelled to a French speaking country (maybe Morocco?), but without the airplane tickets cost?
This is possible as close as 1h from Melbourne! I would love to welcome you in my home full of French artefacts to share my passion for French, teaching and art of living. I am currently designing this retreat so please register your interest and tell me what would work for you, and I will contact you when I have something ready. Below are some activities I am thinking of as of now!
I also offer intensive immersion if you have an exam, a trip or an important meeting coming where you must speak French, with on-site accommodation to minimise the distractions so you can focus on getting up to the desired level as quickly as possible.
Please don’t panic, instead contact me via the button just below for a free consultation.
❋ Silent Way French lessonsSilent Way is a wildly efficient, joyful and little known way of teaching and learning languages. I discovered it while looking for alternative ways of teaching a group of refugees journalists in Paris - a group of adult students without a shared common language. I was trained in France by Roslyn Young and never looked back. I wish it was mainstream school teaching method - our kids would graduate fluent in at least 3 foreign languages, instead of just being able to count to ten (this is such a waste, it makes me want to cry). You will love it, I promise. It sets solid foundations in pronunciation, grammar and language structure, or helps fix broken pronunciation (because previous teachers didn’t realised those early habits would persist!).
❋ Local Winery Guided Tour in FrenchI partnered with lovely Phil from Paternoster Winery to offer you a guided tour in French, and you can taste the French style wines they produce, and purchase if you like (no obligation!).
❋ Interactive House Tour in FrenchI lived, studied and worked in France for 15 years and speak French “at C3 level”, as my fellow Alliance Française teachers joked when I worked there (I routinely corrected my French speaking managers’ spelling… and no, they didn’t like it but I couldn’t help it lol). I brought many books, artefacts and memories from France, they can be found throughout the house. I will comment on them, answer your questions and you will effortlessly learn those everyday life objects names in French, as if you were in France visiting friends!
❋ Guided Meditation and Yoga in FrenchYes, a yoga class and guided meditation in French! Full Immersion :)
❋ Playing Boardgames in FrenchLes jeux de sept familles (I have plenty of them, I especially love Louvre et Musée d’Orsay) and some other games my French speaking nephew and niece adore!
